Dr. Melanie Hudson

Program Director has extensive training and expertise in the application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She has professional experience working in a range of treatment settings, including inpatient, residential, and outpatient, and in private practice treating individuals diagnosed with eating disorders. Dr. Hudson is trained in traumatic stress interventions targeting specific clinical issues such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has expertise in the treatment of individuals diagnosed with complex dissociative disorders, co-morbid psychiatric disorders, mood and anxiety spectrum disorders, and substance abuse disorders.

Dr. Hudson received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. Dr. Hudson worked as a primary therapist in the Eating Disorder Recovery Program at Del Amo Hospital located in Torrance, CA. She completed a clinical research position involving in-depth interviewing and assessment of female survivors of childhood sexual abuse at Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and received extensive training at UCLA’s Anxiety Disorders Clinic.

In her role as Program Director, Dr. Hudson oversees all direct clinical services delivered to the residents of Laurel Hill Inn. She provides individual therapy, group facilitation, and treatment planning for all clients in our residential treatment program. Dr. Hudson works in close collaboration with our multidisciplinary clinical team in order to provide personalized and comprehensive treatment for each client she serves.
