Amanda DeStefano, LCSW
Amanda DeStefano, LICSW, Program Director of the Evening Treatment Program has over 8 years of experience treating eating disorders. She has worked in a variety of treatment settings including residential, day and intensive outpatient programs. Amanda has worked at Laurel Hill Inn for over 6 years and began as a milieu therapist at the Residential Treatment Program in 2004. She went on to obtain her Master’s in Social Work and was hired as a clinical case manager in our residential program upon graduation. In 2008, Amanda began working in our day treatment program as a case manager and worked one evening per week in our intensive outpatient program. She was promoted to Program Director of the Evening Treatment Program in 2010.
Amanda earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Westfield State College and completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Boston College. During graduate school, Amanda completed her fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Mental Health Department, providing individual and group therapy to college students struggling with eating disorders, co-morbid illnesses, mood and anxiety disorders and substance abuse disorders.
Prior to her employment at Laurel Hill Inn, Amanda worked at a partial hospitalization program for eating disorders in San Diego, CA and also served as a member of the Healthy Within Foundation educating local schools and the community about prevention of eating disorders and related cultural issues.
