Amy Carroll, LICSW
Amy Scobie-Carroll, LICSW, Assistant Clinical Director of our Residential Treatment Program, is a psychotherapist with expertise in eating disorder recovery. Amy has been working in the field of eating disorder recovery for more than 10 years. She held her first Laurel Hill position in 2002, then later returned as a clinical case manager and family therapist in 2006. In 2008 she was promoted to Day Program Director, and in 2010 was promoted to Assistant Clinical Director. In addition to helping people recover from eating disorders, Amy has treated various other conditions including substance addiction, depression, anxiety disorders, and mental illness.
Amy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College in Western Massachusetts and completed her Masters Degree in Social Work at Portland State University in Oregon. In her graduate field placements and post-graduate trainings, Amy has been trained in a number of therapeutic approaches and interventions. She regularly incorporates Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into her therapy with clients.
Amy provides individual therapy and treatment planning for clients in our residential treatment program. She works in close collaboration with our multidisciplinary clinical team in order to provide personalized and comprehensive treatment for each client she serves. Amy facilitates a weekly CBT group in both our residential and day treatment programs.
